“Meadow Hill Wellness, with the emphasis on ‘wellness’ has highly skilled and professional practitioners who can help resolve and relieve physical as well as emotional issues.  I came to Meadow Hill about 8 months ago after meeting Sara Poldmae at the West Street Art Fair.

I have been suffering from Arterial Vascular Malformation since 1990.  It is a congenital condition that started to exhibit itself  with a tremor in my left arm.  I have tried numerous types of treatment and am being treated by one of the top 10 neurologists in the country at Johns Hopkins Medical Center.  I have had two Gamma Knife radiation treatments that have been completely ineffective.

The nerve disorder I have stems from a small, contained brain bleed.  My symptoms include an extreme cold sensation and lack of mobility in the left side of my body.  I am using two modalities to address my issues including acupuncture and Shiatsu.  The treatments in conjunction have helped to reduce the shoulder and neck problems I was having.  I am not experiencing any pain.

All in all, the staff at Meadow Hill is extremely professional and genuinely tuned into the path to relieving my affliction.  I feel cared for as a patient and as a friend.”

“I have had the pleasure of knowing Sara Poldmae and her wonderful staff since January 2007.  When I first started treatment with Sara, she provided acupuncture and Chinese herbs for adrenal fatigue and related issues.  I also received acupuncture for self-diagnosed tennis elbow and after just a few treatments, the pain lessened.  While I have received treatments from a wide gambit of physicians and specialists, Sara is the only acupuncturist who has treated me.  My results after receiving acupuncture from Sara were immediate, positive, and beneficial.  I have noticed that many other wellness centers seem to be popping up; a few are even closer to home.  However, I am so satisfied with the services given by Sara and her very competent, caring staff, that I do not even consider going elsewhere.  Sara and her staff “stick” to their craft of progressing wellness in a warm, wonderful and welcoming way.”

“Hi, my name is Sandy Smith.  I was introduced to Sara Poldmae and acupuncture in September of 2006, and I have been so excited about taking care of my health since my first appointment!  I have been treated for numerous things:  acid reflux, fibroids, colds, menopause.  Each time I have had relief and felt great after!  I am also taking fish oil now and highly recommend it!  The thing I am most excited about is how much better I feel—there is an overall energy and wellness feeling I have inside.  It has improved my inner core so much.  It has helped me with feelings of depression, tiredness and fatigue.  I have had less colds and flu.  Did I mention how much more energy I have!!!?  This has had lasting effects for me.  I recommend it to anyone who wants to improve their health and well being.”

“I first came to this office in the beginning of 2008.  I had sinus issues since 2002–allergies, a deviated septum, and was unable to breathe through my nose.  Before coming to this office, I had tried surgery, a neti pot and sinus/allergy pills, but nothing worked.  After the first treatment with Sara Poldmae, I was able to breathe and I no longer needed pills or surgery.”

“I first came to this office on July 8, 2008.  I had mostly sharp pains in the upper right side of my back.  This began about 2 years ago.  I’m not sure of the cause.  The pain occurred daily.  In the past, a physician took x-rays and found nothing.  I saw Tracy Soltesz last week for acupuncture.  I felt relaxed a day after seeing Tracy.  It’s too soon to say what my results are, but I feel very loose right now.”

“Health and wellness have always been a way of life for me, and I believe it does start in the home and with family.  That is why when my husband and I decided to start our own family, and discovered we would have to make a decision as to how we wanted to do this, I turned to Sara Poldmae to help in my decision-making process.

I had been told by my nutritionist that working with an acupuncturist would greatly increase my chances of naturally conceiving.  As a 38-year old, diagnosed with “unexplained infertility,” traditional western medicine told me my only real choice was IVF.  For me, this wasn’t an option, and I chose to go the non-medical route.  I have known too many others who had gone through the emotional and expensive process, and although it works for some, it is not what I wanted.

I chose to start by purifying my system, and Sara was a great help in this process.  She started with my education.  She lent me her copy of The Infertility Cure, which I would recommend to any woman who is experiencing trouble conceiving.  I liked Sara’s way of including me in the process, and I learned a great deal about what my options really were.  It made me that much confident that working with her would bring me the family I wanted.

After receiving weekly acupuncture treatments and herbal supplementation, I was pregnant within 6 months of being told by an infertility specialist to sign up for IVF.  In fact, it was Sara who first told me the news.  At the beginning of one of my weekly treatments, she took my pulse and asked that I take a pregnancy test before receiving any more acupuncture treatments.  I took two, and they were both positive!  It was one of the happiest days of my life!

I had trusted my instincts and Sara’s very capable knowledge and belief in my body’s ability to do what nature intended.  The result was a baby girl, and I will always be greatly indebted to Sara and her staff for educating my husband and me, supporting us and helping grant one of our greatest wishes.”

“I cannot begin to tell you how much better I feel after just 5 treatments.  As I explained, I have fibromyalgia (and migraines) and have been on many different types and combinations of drugs to get any relief.  All seem to help for a while, but nothing has been as effective as the acupuncture treatments.  This is the best I have felt in years.  I am not saying that all of my symptoms have disappeared, but I can see a huge difference.  I have been able to take walks and/or to actually walk on my treadmill for 10 minutes every day.  Before coming in there, I was barely able to work every day let alone get any type of exercise.  Between the pain and the fatigue, I was just existing.  I could not get through a full day at work without napping at lunchtime.  Many times while driving home, I felt like I would fall asleep behind the wheel.  Pretty scary and not a way that I want to live the rest of my life.

Let me further say that I have been seeing a Rheumatologist for several years and she has kept me going, but it was always with drugs.  I knew going back to her was going to mean yet another change or addition in medication.  I already have issues with my liver probably because of the years of medication.  Because the acupuncture treatments have been so effective in making me feel better, I have already started to cut back on the dosage of muscle relaxers with no ill effects.  My long-term goal is to get off of all of the medicine that I have been on for the fibromyalgia and what I have been taking for migraine prevention.  I want to be around to see my grandchildren grow up.

I have to say that I was a bit skeptical when I first came in for my consultation.  I have never tried any alternative medicine before.  Sara Poldmae has been absolutely wonderful; and, through the treatments so far, has made a believer out of me.  At my consultation, Sara told me we would do 6 treatments and then evaluate how I was doing.  That made me realize that her goal is to help me and not to just keep doing treatments for the sake of making money for the business.”

“…At last I have found the right combination of willingness to try something new in the hopes of relief from my non-debilitating, yet irritating condition and of ability to afford said treatment.  I found my courage and went to my first acupuncture appointment last Thursday.  The first thing I realized was that it was more like going to a massage therapist appointment than like a doctor’s office visit.  I didn’t have to undress and wear a tiny sheet.  I didn’t feel cold.  The room was not lit by harsh fluorescent lighting, but rather dimmed, warm light.  There was gentle music playing in the background.  My acupuncturist was calm and professional as any medical practitioner might be, but with that hint of empathy you don’t often receive from a medical doctor.  She feels my case is treatable, but she will need to see me frequently at first to get my wiring to recalibrate itself.  The needles, don’t hurt, by the way.  You hardly feel them at all.  In comparison to the years of desensitization injections and antibiotic injections I received as a child, they are a walk in the park.  I know well that I will have to wait and see if acupuncture can offer me some relief, but I long for my body to be in harmony with itself.”
